Inlays - ProcessAfter the completion of the inlays, they are adapted in a second treatment session and ultimately attached. Inlays made of metal are most often affixed using cement, while restorations made of ceramic or synthetics must be bonded to the tooth using a special procedure. The care required for ceramic restorations is usually more time and labor-intensive than treatment with inlay fillings made of metal.6
Using the most modern computer-supported procedures, inlay restoration is also possible in one session. A sensor makes a so-called "optic impression" of the prepared tooth, on the basis of which an inlay filling is prepared in a short amount of time using computer-driven programming.7
