Dentures - PreparationFor the integration of a dental prosthesis, no comprehensive preparatory measures typically need to be observed. Your teeth should be in an inflammation-free condition. For all three prosthetic types, one or more impressions are made of your jaws so that the prostheses can be prepared to fit as accurately as possible. For those who will wear a telescopic prosthesis, frontal teeth that are not capable of providing adequate support must be pulled during the first session. The ensuing wounds must be completely healed prior to the installation of the prosthesis, which may take weeks or even months. Partial prostheses generally also require the grinding down, to a certain extent, of remaining teeth capable of providing support (see "procedure").3,5
Please speak about possible further preparatory measures explicitly with your doctor.
