Cataract | Pearl Eye - Aftercare

A dressing with ointment is usually placed on the operative eye. After the post-operative observational phase, the patient may return home (in the case of an outpatient stay) with an escort if possible. You should refrain from the independent operation of motor vehicles. Under no circumstances should the eyes be rubbed. In the first night after the operation, the application of a light eye dressing is recommended. When showering you must take special care not to let any water into your eyes.

You should refrain from taking part in sports, visiting the swimming pool, and enjoying similar activities until your doctor has given you approval to do so.7 Remaining mindful of post-operative examinations (mostly on the day directly after the operation and then at regular intervals) and taking prescribed medications are equally important components of the treatment process and must be adhered to without fail.

Aftercare activities depend heavily on your individual situation; please discuss them with your doctor thoroughly.
