Most patients achieve normal or improved eyesight in the first few days after the operation.¹⁰
In the first weeks after the operation only small incremental visual changes occur, which means that the final condition of the eyes is not realized until after 4-6 weeks have passed.¹¹

Through operative correction, the progression of nearsightedness can often be halted or at least contained substantially.¹²

In the best case scenario, a normalised visual acuity of up to +/-0.5 diopters can typically be expected, with variances in individual cases.
