PRK - ResultsThe PRK method usually achieves very good results. After one year, the majority of patients deviate from the target diopter goal only slightly.8
Visual acuity is reduced immediately after the operation. However, most patients regain normal sight in the first days after the operation. In contrast to LASIK and LASEK, successful therapy is gradually phased out in the course of a few weeks or even days.9
After a few weeks, small changes in visual acuity normally occur; final visual acuity can only be determined after a few weeks or months have passed.10
A PRK operation can halt or substantially contain the advance of nearsightedness in most cases.11
