During and after stimulation therapy, strict and structured monitoring is absolutely advisable. It is only in this way that the formation of large ovarian cysts can be stopped at an early stage. Unprotected intercourse should be avoided and further stimulation of the ovaries should be prevented.

Upon waking from short-term anaesthesia after follicular penetration in the context of IVF treatment, you will need to observe 1-2 hours of rest before you may return home. You should take 4-5 days off to recover from the operative procedure and avoid potential cyst formation. Stress factors and physical strains should be avoided. About 14 days after follicle penetration, your pregnancy test should give positive results; after 3 weeks, signs of fertility should be recognisable in the uterus.^2,3
