Pacemaker Implantation - Preparation

Prior to the implantation of the pacemaker, a number of examinations must be conducted. In particular, these are an x-ray examination, an electrocardiogram (ECG), and a laboratory analysis of your blood levels.⁴
In addition, there are some things you should be mindful of during the preparation phase. These include refraining from the use of nicotine about 2-3 weeks before the procedure as well as discontinuing the use of medications which inhibit blood clotting about 10-14 days before the operation.
