Breast Enlargement - Risks

As with any operative procedure, this procedure holds the possibility of risks and complications. Directly after the operation you may experience pain in the chest area and irritation when moving. These should, however, disappear within the next couple of days. Additionally, swelling and bruising can occur after the procedure; these also generally recede after a few days.16

There may be bleeding and secondary bleeding as well as infections. The implant may rotate after the operation, which can be surgically corrected. When breast implants are subjected to intense pressure (such as in an accident), they must be removed and replaced with new ones, if applicable. The area around the nipple may become overly sensitive which, in rare cases, remains for long periods.17

A capsule forms around the implant, which hardens in some cases, thereby influencing the shape of the breast. In some cases, the implants must be removed and replaced.18

You doctor should clarify these risks as well as your personal risk situation in a private conversation.
