Breast Lift - Preparation

Your doctor will clarify whether you are a suitable candidate for a breast lift in a preliminary conversation. The form and shape you desire for your breasts should be just as much a topic of conversation as the question of which operational method is right for you. As a rule, photographs of your breasts are made in order to compare them with the postoperative results.6

The intake of medications such as anticoagulants (e.g. aspirin) or the use of sleeping pills should be stopped 14 days before the operation in addition to refraining from the consumption of alcohol. Smokers should reduce or completely eliminate their nicotine intake four weeks prior to the operation in order to limit the risk of skin necrosis (skin that dies off) at the site of the incision as much as possible.

Please let your doctor know about any allergies that you are suffering from as well as any existing illnesses that you are aware of. In general, it is sensible to undergo an ultrasound examination or mammography prior to the operation so that your healthcare provider can react to possible changes in your breast tissue quickly.7

Your doctor will be glad to clarify any further potential preparatory measures.
