Breast Lift - RisksComplications rarely arise in breast lift treatments performed at the hands of experienced surgeons.17
Possible complications are undesired bleeding, secondary bleeding, and infections of the incisions or the dying off of tissue (tissue necrosis). Altered senstivity may occur in the area of the breasts, which in rare cases is long-term. The inability to nurse infants may also arise.
From an aesthetic point of view, risks include, above all, dissatisfaction with the results of the breast lift; for example, disadvantageous scar formations, inconsistencies in the shape and contour of the breasts, asymmetries, or complete/partial loss of the nipples or areolae. In some cases a second operation may be necessary.18, 19
You should discuss these and other risks as well as your personal risk situation in a private conversation with your doctor.
