Buttock Contouring - Process

The operating procedure of posterior correction may be very different depending on the method of treatment.

Liposuction is normally performed using local anaesthetic. Because there are often large fatty deposits on the posterior and in the hips that need to be sucked out, in some cases general anaesthesia in conjunction with a one- to two-day in-patient stay are called for.8

The pertinent areas are marked and prepared: fat cells are loosened by injecting large amounts of a sodium chloride solution as well as other substances. After enough time has passed for the solution to take effect, the suction cannulae are introduced via several fine incisions and the loosened fat cells are sucked out. The incisions are sewn shut, but can also occasionally heal successfully without stitches.9

In posterior lifting, excess skin is separated, under local or general anaesthesia, from the parts of the posterior nearest to one’s head and ultimately removed. The remaining skin is tautened. The incision necessary for this procedure is usually made in a discrete location so that the scar can be hidden well later.10 If you have decided on posterior implants, you will be placed under general anaesthesia in preparation. Next, incisions (approx. 5-7 cm long) are made in both cheeks and the tissue is undercut. The implants, silicon in most cases, are then placed in the openings created and the incisions are subsequently stitched shut. The procedure is accompanied by a one- to two-day in-patient stay.11

Buttock augmentation via injection of one’s own body fat is undertaken under either local or general anaesthetic, depending on the scope of the operation. Before the actual procedure, the fat is first sucked out of another spot (e.g. stomach or thigh or other regions in your posterior). With the aid of injection needles, the fat is then inserted into the appropriate areas.12

The procedures described above generally last between one to three hours.
