Chin Correction - Risks

Complications rarely arise in chin corrections and are partially traceable to treatment errors.

Possibilities include wound infections, inflammations, bleeding, or secondary bleeding. Feelings of numbness in the lower lip, similar to the feeling after a dentist's injection of local anaesthetic, and other sensitivity irregularities should fade away after some time, but may remain long-term in rare cases.^{15, 16}

If implants were installed, these may exert pressure on the teeth or dental roots, thereby weakening them. Furthermore, implants may shift, which can be corrected in a further procedure.¹⁷ In addition to medical risks, there are also risks of an aesthetic nature, i.e. when the results do not correspond to your desires. In this case, the results can typically be corrected.
