Ear Correction - AftercareFor local anaesthesia, you can normally return home accompanied after the sedative has worn off. You should refrain from driving on the day of treatment. You can remove the pressure bandage after 3-4 days and replace it with a broad headband during the day for the first 1-2 weeks.
In the first few days you will have to deal with pain and, in some cases, bluish coloration; furthermore, swelling may occur, which should recede after a few weeks. You should proceed with caution when washing your hair. Wearing a head bandage or a wide headband while sleeping and lying is mandatory in the first three post-operative weeks in order to avoid bending the pinnae downward. The removal of bandages and stitches is done by your doctor after about 7-10 days.
After around 3-4 days, you are usually ready for work or your child is ready to return to school. You may resume sports activities after about six weeks.13
