Eyelid Correction - Results

With a successfully executed upper and/or lower eyelid blepharoplasty, you can lend your face a more youthful appearance and a more inviting look. After the post-operative swelling and bruises have faded, the lower lids should be free of wrinkles when at rest; the upper lids should be markedly smoother. Dark spots on extremely thin lower eyelid skin cannot be made lighter by this procedure. After the operation, a very fine line remains; this line is oriented along the run of the natural lid folds and is normally almost invisible.¹⁴

At your request, a correction of newly developed tissue slackening can be repeated, which is empirically the case after 10 years at the earliest. It must be noted, however, that the risk of recovery complications is increased in a repeated lower eyelid correction.¹⁵

You should also keep in mind that tissue is removed during this procedure and that the process can be reversed through the transplantation of tissue from other areas of your body.16
