Hair Transplantation - Aftercare

After the procedure, you can expect light to mild pains for which an analgesic can be administered. Small crusts form in the receiving region which normally fall off within 3-10 days. Light swelling and reddening can occur, which can spread as far as the face in some cases. These normally recede after 3-4 days.1 Stitches are usually pulled after 7-10 days. You should refrain from sports activities for about 2-3 weeks in order to avoid incidences of bleeding. How quickly you can return to daily work life depends primarily on the scope of treatment. This may be as soon as a few days, but can take longer.3

With increasing age, hair can thin in a natural manner despite transplants. Furthermore, it may be possible that inconsistencies are still present or form again over time, particularly in the forehead area. In these and similar cases, transplants can be undertaken again even after several years have passed.7

Please speak with the doctor who is treating you about the above-named measures and further individual aftercare measures.
