Liposuction - PreparationIn a preliminary conversation with the doctor who is treating you, you should discuss whether you are an appropriate candidate for liposuction. If this is the case, you should tell your doctor which places on your body you feel to be particularly bothersome and what your wishes are for your new figure.9
14 days before the operation, you should refrain from taking anticoagulant medications such as aspirin and from smoking. You should also avoid alcohol. A substantial loss of weight through dieting in the weeks before treatment is not advisable due to the fact that the skin must always adapt to changes in body volume.
For leg and stomach procedures, you should wear support stockings or pants with a banded waist on the day of the operation. These will be put on you directly after treatment to avoid the accumulation of water in the resulting openings as well as to prevent the formation of lumps and scars. Should you have allergies, e.g. if you are allergic to specific medications, please tell the doctor who is treating you.10
Your doctor will clarify any further potential preparatory measures in detail.
