Nose Reshaping - Preparation

As with every surgical procedure, there are some things that must be observed prior to a nose correction. In order to avoid delaying blood coagulation, you should refrain from taking sedatives which contain acetylsalicylic acid (e.g. aspirin or ASS) 14 days prior to the operation. Additionally, you should consume neither alcohol nor sleeping aids nor vitamin E during this period. Because a nasal correction may also be an eligible medical procedure, the doctor who is treating you will check the condition of your nasal mucosa, your nasal conchae, and your breathing during a preliminary examination. At this time, x-rays of your face are prepared in addition to other things. A consultation session will address your individual wishes and desires in the course of planning the correct method for nasal reshaping. Possible operational results can be visualised using computer photos. If you have sensitive mucosa, you may use a nurturing nasal salve or oil-based nasal drops 2-3 weeks before the procedure. Chronic inflammations in the upper nasal passages (nose, pharynx, mouth) or in the ear should be handled in a timely manner.

If you are dependent on seeing aids, you should obtain contact lenses prior to the operation because wearing glasses during the first two post-operative weeks is either not possible or possible only with great difficulties. You should plan a downtime of about 14 days for the procedure.^4,7,8
