For a chemical peeling, your skin should be examined for fine skin injuries and inflammations beforehand in order to safeguard against later infections. ⁵

For facial scar removal procedures you should not wear make-up on the day of treatment. ¹
Acne scars can only be successfully removed when the acne has already cleared up.
For a surgical procedure you should refrain from taking anticoagulant medications, sleeping pills, and alcoholic beverages in the 14 days prior to the operation.
