Skin Correction - Results

With laser treatment or a skin peel, aesthetically unpleasant skin changes can be removed or reduced. With treatment via the removal of the uppermost layer(s) of skin, a controlled wound is created. Once the resulting scab has dropped off, there is room for a fresh and smooth new layer of skin which forms from beneath the skin. With these treatments, very nice results can be achieved and the skin looks younger in general.

With a peeling treatment, in addition to a general rejuvenation of the skin, sunlight damage to the skin as well as pigmentation spots, small lines, or cornification irregularities are particularly susceptible to removal or can at least be mitigated. Scars can also be improved and acne can be obviated. However, deep wrinkles cannot be corrected by a peeling treatment. The effects of peeling normally last for about 2-10 years after which a repetition of the procedure can be sensible.^10,11

Please be aware that peeling always has a brightening effect. This effect is indeed desirable when treating age spots, but can also lead to the skin looking unnaturally transparent in some cases.⁵
